Hyvärilä beach area

Hyvärilä’s public beach is located on the shore of Lake Pielinen. The beach is calm and shallow, making it suitable for young children.

Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty. A few dozen meters from the beach, there is a pier where you can swim in deeper water.

Next to the beach, there is a playground, a parkour park and a beach volleyball court. The Lakeside Sauna (Rantasauna) is also nearby and can be booked in advance.

Hyvärilä’s beach area features a fitness park that includes a children’s playground and a parkour course. The course is designed for fitness and balance training. The fitness park is open to everyone, offering activities suitable for all ages and fitness levels!

Welcome to Hyvärilä to enjoy the spring sunshine! Hyvärilä combines stunning natural landscapes, diverse activities and comfortable accommodation options. We warmly welcome you to enjoy the joys of spring in Hyvärilä!

Youth work

Our youth work focuses on school camps, international youth work, Nuotta coaching and local youth work.

International youth work

Are you interested in internationalisation, but a year abroad as an exchange student, for example, seems like too big a step? There are other paths to internationalisation, adapted to each young person's own situation.

Facilities

We offer our years of experience in successful arrangements for celebrations, major events, and gatherings. In the same courtyard, events for up to 1000 people can be organized. You can get event spaces, catering, accommodation, and program services all in one place. Coffee breaks or meals can be arranged for all our venues from Hyvärilä.

Hotel

The facilities of the hotel include 14 cozy hotel rooms, different types of meeting facilities, Restaurant Pielinen (seats for 70 people) and sauna facilities on the bottom floor. Hotel room stays includes breakfast, bed linen, towels and a general sauna shift. If you have a special diet, please let us know!

Accommodation

Hyvärilä Youth and Holiday Centre offers accommodation for long holiday stays as well as a short visit. We provide the following range of accommodation services for different tastes: Hotel rooms, holiday apartments and budget stays in our hostel and cottages.

Camping

Spend a hassle-free holiday in the lap of nature, close to amenities. Park your caravan or camper or pitch your tent in our well-maintained campsite and explore the extensive range of activities in Hyvärilä and other diverse tourist and nature destinations in Nurmes. Pets are also welcome!

Rantatupa hostel

The Rantatupa hostel is located directly at the waterfront by Lake Pielinen, approximately 100 metres from the Hotel. The our lakeside hostel is an affordable choice for basic accommodation.

Holiday apartments

Hyvärilä’s high-quality holiday apartments are located right next to the Hotel. Our light and spacious apartments (110 m2) include two separate bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and a living room complete with a soapstone fireplace on the bottom floor. Each apartment has its own sauna, terrace and gas grill. There is also a drying cabinet in the hallway. The living room has been decorated with a framed photograph by Reino Turunen.

Activities

There are sports opportunities both outdoors and indoors throughout the year. In the same courtyard, it is possible to stay overnight, have a lunch, enjoy outdoor activities, and explore the nature, whether it's the forest or the water.

Restaurant

Our hotel restaurant serves daily breakfast and lunch buffet-style. We are proud participants in the "Portaat luomuun" program and currently hold a two-star organic restaurant rating.

About us

We are one of Finland's eight youth centers funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture and under youth laws. Together with Finland's youth centers, we are the largest and most diverse organizer of camps in Finland. Hyvärilä's activities focus on youth center, local youth work, and tourism activities. We have years of experience in organizing school camps, youth camps, and events.

Rental equipments

Hyvärilä offers a range of rental equipment suitable for activities in the forest or on the water. All rental equipment can be reserved directly from Hyvärilä's reception, conveniently located within the hotel premises.
